Job Description

Job Summary
Business Office Cashier provides assistance throughout the Business Office with various responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

Review and input daily activity submitted for various departments throughout the College.
Receive and receipt miscellaneous College payments into the appropriate receivable account.
Post payments and deposits for (Undergraduate, Graduate, Academy and Preschool) accounts.
Open and distribute Office Mail including inter-office and outside mail.
Cash personal checks for students, staff and faculty during Cashier Window Hours.
Finalize daily activity including remote deposit checks, cash-out, balance drawers and run reports.
Distribute checks, sign-out Kroger and Walmart College cards and sell stamps.
Manage mobile credit card tablet including calendar and equipment.
Assist with daily posting and reconciliation of CRC payments.
Scan Business Office documents.
Develop knowledge in other areas within the Business Office.
Assist and direct students, employees and visitors that contact the Business Office.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

This position requires a high school education.
A two-year degree in accounting desirable with two to three years of accounting and computer experience; or combination of education, training or experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.

Other Skills

Ability to handle a wide variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize properly.
Must be skilled in Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and computer processing.
Must possess good accounting skills, be accurate and detail oriented possess good interpersonal skills in dealing with College staff on the phone and in person.
Honesty, integrity, discretion, and sound judgement are required.
Must maintain an acceptable attendance record, be punctual, and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

Ability to read, write, hear, speak, see and communicate effectively.
Ability to operate basic office equipment to include, photocopier, fax machine, adding machine, computer equipment, display monitors and the like.
Position is mostly sedentary in nature.
Occasional lifting of office supplies, booklets, etc. is necessary.
