What You'll Do
As a Caregiver, you will:
- Build positive, supportive relationships with youth.
- Provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Supervise daily routines and encourage healthy habits.
- Lead recreational activities, games, and life-skills experiences.
- Chaperone and participate in community outings and special activities.
- Assist with homework and educational support when applicable.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks.
- Encourage independence through daily responsibilities and life skills.
- Support residents using trauma-informed approaches.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the treatment team.
- Help create a home where every child feels respected, valued, and supported.

A genuine love for working with children is required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 21 years of age
- Experience working with children, adolescents, healthcare, behavioral health, childcare, education, foster care, group homes, or related human services preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification (required or willingness to obtain)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background checks and meet all DFPS employment requirements
