Zenith Primary & Urgent Care is seeking a compassionate and dependable Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing clinical team.
This is a hands-on role offering experience in both primary care and urgent care. You will work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers, develop a broad range of clinical skills, and build meaningful relationships with patients.

Primary responsibilities
- Welcome, room and prepare patients for evaluation
- Obtain vital signs, medication lists and focused medical histories
- Accurately document information in the electronic health record
- Perform clinical procedures within training and scope, including phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection and medication administration
- Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures and urgent-care treatments
- Explain procedures and help patients feel comfortable throughout their visit
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Follow infection-control, medication-safety and HIPAA requirements
- Recognize potentially urgent conditions and promptly alert the clinical provider
- Assist with patient registration or telephone messages when occasional team coverage is needed
- Collaborate with providers, front-desk personnel and other clinical staff to maintain an efficient patient flow
Qualifications
- At least one year of Medical Assistant, EMT or comparable clinical experience preferred
- Medical Assistant or EMT certification preferred
- Current BLS certification required or ability to obtain it before starting
- Experience with phlebotomy, injections and EKGs preferred; training may be available for the right candidate
- Familiarity with electronic health records preferred
- Strong communication, organization and patient-service skills
- Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Dependable, collaborative and willing to learn
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Portuguese skills are a plus
Schedule requirements
- Ability to work approximately two or three weekday shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Ability to participate in a rotating weekend schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Exact schedule and weekend frequency will be discussed during the interview
