Job Title: Group Exercise Instructor

Job Description:
A Group Exercise Instructor (GEI) teaches classes with energy and motivation to provide members with an
experience that supports the company’s mission and core values. A GEI is responsible for leading safe,
innovative group fitness classes that range in variety and level.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Enforce company safety measures.
- Enthusiastic about group exercise classes and enjoy creating and delivering new innovative routines.
- Reporting to work on-time with a professional, positive attitude and a passion to motivate others.
- Build and maintain strong member attendance.
- Work as a team player.
- Keep current all mandatory education certifications.
- Understand and follow all policies, procedures and standards.
- Understand and complete administrative responsibilities for payroll. Including but not limited to:
efficiently use class ticketing system, verifying class attendance, closing classes in the system, and
confirming completed classes for accurate instructor pay.
- Direct member requests to the club manager.
- Keep group exercise room clean and organized.
The GEI reports directly to the Club Manager.
The GEI should have the following qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience teaching exercise classes for clients of all levels
- Must be able to communicate effectively to motivate members and provide members with fitness
instruction and information.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn company software systems.
- Excellent customer service skills
Certifications/Education Level:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Teaching experience or equivalent teaching/performance experience in area of expertise
- CPR is required
- Relevant fitness or education certification. AFAA and/or ACE Certification or similar.
