Under the general direction and supervision of the Division Dean and Associate Dean and the Program Director, the Electrical & Electromechanical Technology Instructor plays a key role in shaping the next generation of skilled electricians and automation professionals. This position provides instruction at the Milford Campus, delivering hands-on learning in classroom, lab, and online environments.
The instructor is responsible for providing regular instruction, developing and updating courses taught in classroom, lab, online, and distance-learning environments, and may also teach in other locations, including the Prison Education Program (PEP).
Teaching assignments include, but are not limited to, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for residential and commercial applications; programming and installation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs); industrial communications and electronics; robotics and integrated automation; and installation and maintenance of electric motors and motor starters.
Beyond day-to-day instruction, this position will help grow and evolve the program by developing and updating curriculum, maintaining modern lab spaces and equipment, and implementing innovative teaching strategies for both high school and college students. Serving as a mentor and advisor to students, tracking their progress, and collaborating closely with the program team and SCC campus teams to ensure student success. This is a full-time regular position for the upcoming 2026-2027 Academic Year.
