We are seeking a passionate and innovative elementary STEM Teacher to join our dynamic Innovation Lab team. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that integrate STEM principles with innovative teaching methods, including instructional design and lesson planning tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Lead engaging classroom activities that incorporate laboratory experiments, dissection, and scientific research to deepen understanding of biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
- Facilitate hands-on projects in areas such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, and cell biology to promote experiential learning.
- Utilize learning technology tools effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement in both classroom and laboratory settings.
- Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management strategies while maintaining high standards of safety during laboratory activities.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, project evaluations, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Mentor students on research techniques, laboratory procedures, and scientific inquiry; guide them through research projects and lab dissections with precision.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that incorporate current scientific research and educational best practices.
- Support students’ academic advising needs by providing guidance on STEM career pathways and higher education opportunities related to science and technology fields.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of STEM subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, and science research methodologies.
- Proven experience in curriculum development with a focus on innovative instructional strategies for science education.
- Laboratory experience with dissection techniques and research laboratory procedures across biological sciences.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms used for instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques suitable for diverse student populations.
- Effective communication skills for mentoring students and collaborating with colleagues; capable of proofreading scientific reports and instructional materials.
- Experience working with students in private school settings or special education environments is preferred.
- Ability to design lessons aligned with standardized testing requirements while fostering inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students in scientific research projects; experience in higher education teaching or science instruction is advantageous.
