American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool RN requiring an active Ohio or compact RN license and 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience.

Float pool position within a hospital's Med/Surg Tele department
-
Potential to float to units J1-2, J33 and the ED to care for the same patient population
-
Rotating day/night shift schedule (3x12 hours), days 7:00am-7:30pm and nights 7:00pm-7:30am
-
Shifts may be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the hospital, though preferred shift will be honored when possible
-
Required to work at least every other holiday

20-week assignment length, with 13-week assignments also accepted

Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license required in hand
-
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross)
-
18 months of combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele required, preferably within one location
-
18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, preferably within the last 3 years
-
Travel experience will satisfy the recent experience requirement

One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty required, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months

Co-worker references will not be accepted

COVID-19 vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only

Flu vaccine required, with medical or religious exemptions only

Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients across the float pool unit and additional floated units as needed
-
ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment completed during orientation, with a passing score required (maximum of 2 attempts allowed)

PBDS assessment is waived for this role

Nurses are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirement

Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate

Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
-
Assignments may extend up to 18 consecutive months, with a required 6-month break before returning to the health system
