Job Summary
ABC Community Services is seeking a dedicated and organized Program Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of residential and community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring quality services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting individuals in achieving their goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure quality service delivery.
- Coordinate daily staffing and ensure adequate coverage for assigned programs.
- Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services.
- Conduct routine visits to program sites and provide guidance to staff.
- Ensure staff follow individualized service plans, behavior support plans, and agency policies.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating DSP staff.
- Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency, Medicaid, and state requirements.
- Maintain communication with individuals served, families, guardians, case managers, and other stakeholders.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and staffing concerns in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and assist with licensing or regulatory reviews.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate program records.
- Collaborate with management to improve program operations and service quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support agency operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required.
- Previous supervisory, lead staff, or program coordination experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email), internet navigation, and the ability to learn agency software and electronic documentation systems.
- Knowledge of Medicaid waiver services and Indiana regulations preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities when needed.
Position Requirement
This is a leadership position that combines program oversight with direct service responsibilities. The Program Coordinator is expected to provide Direct Support Professional (DSP) services when staffing shortages, call-offs, emergencies, or other operational needs arise.
