Lead Teacher

As a successful Lead Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to champion the Sylvan developed curriculum, manage, and ensure the quality of the education standards and teaching staff, and deliver quality instruction.
As a successful Lead Teacher, you will:
- Ensure Educational Integrity:
- Administer Sylvan Skills Assessments; analyze and interpret results
- Write and recommend goal-based programs for Sylvan Students as well as monitor programs for performance.
- Teach, master Sylvan academic programs in reading, writing, math, etc.
- Establish relationships and communications with students’ teachers for insights on school progress
- Create positive learning environment by modeling motivational behavior in the center for staff, students, and parents during all phases of the instructional program.
Manage & Train:
- Participate in training & motivating all instructors, and support staff
- Contribute to center profitability by controlling labor budget through managing instructor staffing levels and schedules
- Partner with the Center Director to run operations
Help Grow the Center:
- Participate in the enrollment process of new and potential families, diagnosing students’ needs and making education recommendations and plans for progress
- Keep parents informed on program progress by writing and delivering conferences
We require:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or working towards one
- A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience in a public or private school (K-12) (preferred)
- Managerial experience in a customer service environment (preferred)
- Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, and the ability to build relationships
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Confidence presenting information to parents and small groups
- Ability to work morning and evening hours, including Saturdays
- Excellent technology skills and ability to use apps, computers, iPads, etc.
- Teaching credential a plus (but not required)
