Jay’s Chevrolet GMC is looking for a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Full-Time Automotive Detailer to join our team. The Automotive Detailer is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and preparing new and pre-owned vehicles for our customers and dealership inventory.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail, works efficiently, and understands the importance of presenting every vehicle in its best possible condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and detail interior and exterior surfaces of vehicles.
- Wash, dry, vacuum, shampoo, and condition vehicles as needed.
- Clean and dress dashboards, door panels, consoles, carpets, seats, and other interior surfaces.
- Clean windows, mirrors, wheels, tires, wheel wells, and exterior trim.
- Perform waxing, polishing, buffing, and paint-care services as needed.
- Remove stains, dirt, odors, and other imperfections from vehicle interiors and exteriors.
- Prepare newly purchased vehicles for the sales lot.
- Assist with vehicle reconditioning and maintain vehicles throughout the process.
- Identify areas requiring additional repair, cleaning, or reconditioning and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain clean and organized detailing areas, equipment, and supplies.
- Properly operate and maintain pressure washers, vacuums, extractors, buffers, and other detailing equipment.
- Follow all dealership safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Move and park vehicles safely throughout the dealership property.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive detailing experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work around vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
