Part-Time Janitorial Team Lead – Class A Office Building
We are hiring an experienced Part-Time Janitorial Team Lead to oversee and assist our evening cleaning team at a Class A office building.
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 5:30 PM–9:30 PM
Approximately 20 hours per week
This is a Working Team Lead position, meaning the Team Lead will have assigned cleaning responsibilities while also providing leadership, quality control, and support to the evening janitorial team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the evening janitorial team.
- Assign and coordinate nightly cleaning responsibilities.
- Perform assigned cleaning duties alongside the team.
- Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies before leaving the building.
- Clean offices, conference rooms, common areas, breakrooms, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
- Vacuum carpets and sweep/mop hard-surface floors.
- Empty trash and recycling and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
- Clean entrance glass and other high-visibility areas.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and performance.
- Train and coach employees on proper cleaning procedures.
- Ensure janitorial closets remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Monitor supplies and report inventory needs to management.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is properly used, cleaned, and stored.
- Follow all building security, key, access-card, and alarm procedures.
- Report locked or inaccessible areas that prevent completion of cleaning.
- Communicate maintenance, staffing, security, and service concerns to management.
- Ensure the team's assigned work is completed before the end of the shift.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial janitorial experience required.
- Team Lead or supervisory cleaning experience preferred.
- Class A office building experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Ability to lead employees while also performing hands-on cleaning duties.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be comfortable working in a professional corporate office environment.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, reach, and kneel; push and pull janitorial carts and equipment; and lift approximately 30–40 pounds as needed.
