Reporting to the Safety & Quality Manage, you will partner with operations to promote and influence the EHSQ program as it is implemented in field operations.
What You'll Do
Lead a team of Safety Advisors, overseeing crews within a specific geographic area
Verify that internal and customer safety programs, systems, & initiatives are implemented and effective
Reinforce, verify, and monitor field operations’ adherence to all safety and quality policies and procedures
Provide instruction as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Safety & Quality tasks
Support/perform the training for new hires
Evaluate and oversee technical training
Evaluate, oversee and deliver weekly safety meeting content as needed
Implement safety and quality procedures, all applicable regulations and company/customer standards
Facilitate and encourage a safety culture of commitment to continuous improvement
Provide training and oversite for the on-site safety assessments of crews
Act as lead person and follow the incident reporting and investigation process guideline
Complete internal audits, assessments and observations, communicate findings to Leadership Team, assign corrective actions, and track closure/completion
Manage drug and alcohol program and maintain safety documentation
Help with the risk assessment and hazard control of new projects/tasks
Define goals aligned with our goals and safety department vision
Stay informed on industry topics to create direction of the department
Be our Safety Representative with customers and within the industry
Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
What You'll Have
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years' experience in underground utility construction
3+ years' experience in safety or equivalent related operations experience (GF, Foreman, etc.)
Must have or be able to obtain (within 6 months) at least one safety specific designation/certification

Work Environment
Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Flexibility to work different schedules and stay late with little or no notice
Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
Legal Stuff
