The Opportunity
This is the top cyber security leadership role at Technology Architects.
You will own and scale our entire cyber security practice end-to-end—defining the strategy, leading the team, shaping the technology stack, guiding our clients, and ensuring our own organization meets the same standards we deliver. You are accountable for the outcomes: service quality, team performance, client trust, and financial success.
This is not a caretaker role. You will inherit a strong foundation and a lean team, with a clear mandate to mature, expand, and lead one of the company’s most strategic service offerings.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing technical controls with engineers, presenting security roadmaps to executive teams, and representing the organization publicly as a trusted voice in cyber security.
What You’ll Own
- The Practice – Strategy, service offerings, delivery quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance
- The Technology Stack – Evaluation, selection, and ongoing optimization of security technologies and vendors
- The Team – Leadership, hiring, coaching, and development of a growing cyber security team
- Client Relationships – Executive-level engagement, strategic guidance, and long-term trust with managed clients
- Internal Security Program – Policies, controls, risk management, and compliance for Technology Architects
Key ResponsibilitiesCyber Security Practice Leadership
- Lead delivery and continuous improvement of managed cyber security services
- Define service offerings, standards, methodologies, and documentation
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics
- Own practice profitability, growth, and operational performance
- Hire, develop, and lead high-performing team members
- Collaborate with Managed Services and Solution Architecture leadership to ensure seamless client delivery
Client Security Leadership
- Serve as the executive escalation point for complex security issues
- Lead client security assessments, roadmap planning, and strategic initiatives
- Participate in key client meetings including Quarterly Business Reviews
- Provide oversight for services including:
- MDR/EDR/XDR
- SIEM and monitoring
- Incident response
- Vulnerability management
- Email and identity security
- Guide clients through frameworks such as CIS Controls, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS
- Support and deliver vCISO-style engagements
Business Development & Growth
- Partner with sales and account management to expand cyber security services
- Participate in discovery sessions, proposal development, and solution design
- Build and present executive-level security recommendations and roadmaps
- Maintain and grow relationships with strategic vendors and partners
Thought Leadership & Market Presence
- Represent Technology Architects at industry events, conferences, and peer groups
- Build thought leadership through content such as blogs, webinars, and presentations
- Establish yourself as a trusted voice in cyber security for clients and prospects
Internal Cyber Security Program
- Own and mature Technology Architects’ internal security posture
- Maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with best practices
- Oversee internal controls including:
- Endpoint and identity protection
- Monitoring and vulnerability management
- Lead risk assessments, audits, and tabletop exercises
- Ensure compliance with applicable frameworks and contractual obligations
- Drive employee security awareness and training initiatives
What You BringRequired
- 7+ years of progressive cyber security experience
- 3+ years leading security teams or programs
- Strong understanding of modern security architectures and operations
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences
- Proven experience supporting pre-sales and client-facing engagements
- Demonstrated leadership capability: building teams, setting direction, owning outcomes
Preferred
- Experience in a Managed Services Provider or consulting environment
- Experience with technologies such as:
- Microsoft Defender suite
- SIEM/MDR platforms
- Identity and access management (e.g., Duo)
- Email security and endpoint protection tools
- Experience delivering vCISO or virtual security leadership services
- Familiarity with major frameworks (CIS, NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2, PCI-DSS)
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, GIAC)

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
