The Superintendent supervises and coordinates activities of workers and subcontractors engaged in one or more occupations on an industrial job site, studies production schedules, and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignment. The Superintendent has a primary responsibility for accountability in administering the budget of assigned jobs and provides services to customers as job requires.
The Superintendent is responsible for the interpretation of specifications and drawings. This person analyzes and resolves work problems and recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
The Superintendent must have a strong construction background and a good understanding of concrete formwork and placement, carpentry and be familiar with other mechanical (welding, millwright steel erection etc.) areas of construction. A High School education with technical training or equivalent experience involving at least seven years on the job in industrial construction is required. The superintendent must also possess the ability to work and communicate with other supervisory and management personnel in a effective manner. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
The ability to manage Multiple crews on a job is a must.
