Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, establishing a friendly rapport from the moment they arrive.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests and dietary needs are noted.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, including wine pairings and cocktail options, to enhance guest experience and encourage upselling.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card processing via POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations; assist with bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of food industry trends, spirits experience, wine knowledge, and fine dining etiquette to elevate service quality.
- Engage with guests proactively to foster guest relations, handle inquiries professionally, and address concerns swiftly.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for efficient sales processing.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell menu items including cocktails, spirits, wines, and desserts confidently.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation, cash handling, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with serving in diverse settings such as casual or upscale dining establishments; hospitality background preferred.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with team members including hosts/hostesses and kitchen staff.
