Professor- Associate Degree Nursing - Central Campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faculty members are expected to be effective teachers, to maintain current knowledge in their fields, and to have pedagogic skills that are appropriate for our students. Faculty members are also expected to continue development of their knowledge and skills, to contribute to the community of scholars, and to represent the College in the community. All employees of San Jacinto College are expected to demonstrate the values of the institution.

Design and deliver engaging, rigorous coursework that fosters critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and practical application of knowledge

Essential Job Functions
Teaching:
Develops and uses a syllabus and course information materials for each course, laboratory, or clinical setting within state, college, and departmental guideline.
Professional Development:
Plans, develops, and uses effective teaching methods and materials which assist students in meeting course objectives, are appropriate for students with different educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles, and engage the students in learning.
Reviews, evaluates, reflects, and revises program curricula and teaching methods through a self-evaluation process of self-reflection.
Meets or exceeds professional standards, state-mandated guidelines, requirements of business/industry, and higher education, as appropriate to the discipline(s).
Participates in college-related activities such as registration, community education, recruitment of students, student retention, and faculty selection.
Additional Job Functions:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Two years of clinical experience in medical-surgical, mental health, maternal-newborn, or pediatric nursing
Full-time faculty may be assigned classes at multiple campuses.
Note: Faculty are assigned to teach courses using various delivery methods based on the teaching area and the needs of students and the College, which may require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location.
