Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct detailed account analysis, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold corporate governance standards.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, and others to streamline financial operations.
- Assist with budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and cost analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure data entry accuracy within financial systems through meticulous attention to detail and double entry bookkeeping practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, or equivalent enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP standards along with familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
- Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation efficiently.
- Excellent math skills coupled with proficiency in 10 key typing for accurate data entry.
