SCI is looking for Unskilled Laborer to performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction projects such as roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other infrastructure. This position involves manual labor and works under the direct supervision of a site superintendent or foreman.
Key Responsibilities:

Load and unload building materials and distribute them to appropriate locations.

Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, hazards, and excess materials.

Run some types of equipment or put together and take apart temporary structures, install silk fence and/or Turbidity Barriers

Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., wheelbarrows, shovels, tampers).

Help foreman, carpenters, and other skilled workers when necessary
- Remove, fill, or compact earth

Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.

Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
-
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.

General Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks

Ability to understand and follow safety rules and procedures.

Ability to work in all weather

Must be punctual and reliable.

Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and crouch continuously during an 8+ hour shift.

Capability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stair towers up to 60 feet high.

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.

Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and concrete vibrators for extended periods.

Must be able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).

Ability to walk and work on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions.

Physical capability to work within confined spaces and excavations up to 20 feet.

Visual acuity and alertness to work safely around moving equipment and provide clear flagging signals.

Good auditory skills to hear equipment alarms, instructions, and communication on a busy site.
Work Environment

Outdoor work environment exposed to all weather conditions.

Frequent exposure to high noise levels, dust, dirt, grease, and moving construction machinery.

Work near hazardous materials commonly used in construction, including form oil, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and fresh concrete.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
-
Working in and/or around standing water and bodies of water.
