Job Description
Nancy’s Home Care is seeking a dependable, responsible, and experienced caregiver to provide overnight care for a client. This position requires someone who is comfortable providing hands-on personal care and wheelchair assistance and who can remain attentive to the client’s needs throughout the overnight shift.
We are looking for a caregiver who takes their responsibilities seriously, communicates well, and can provide compassionate care while helping the client remain safe, comfortable, and respected in their home.
Responsibilities
- Assist the client with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene as needed
- Provide safe and appropriate wheelchair assistance
- Assist with transfers and mobility as required
- Help with repositioning and ensuring the client is comfortable throughout the night
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Prepare light meals or snacks as needed
- Perform light housekeeping related to the client’s care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or needs
- Follow the client’s established care plan
- Provide companionship and reassurance
- Complete other basic caregiving duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous hands-on caregiving experience required
- Experience assisting clients who use a wheelchair
- Comfortable providing personal care and mobility assistance
- Dependable and able to consistently work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday overnight shifts
- Patient, compassionate, professional, and respectful
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Must understand the importance of remaining awake, alert, and attentive to the client’s needs throughout the shift
- Must meet all Nancy’s Home Care employment and background requirements
