Job Summary:
McGann Building Supply is seeking a dependable full-time Delivery Driver / Yard Associate. Applicants with a valid Michigan Chauffeur License or CDL are encouraged to apply. CDL-qualified applicants may be eligible for higher starting pay based on experience. This position includes local delivery of lumber and building materials as well as assisting with daily yard operations. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Duties:
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle (box truck, van, or similar) to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload products from the vehicle using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, dollies, etc.)
- Plan delivery routes and ensure timely deliveries
- Verify the accuracy of orders before loading them onto the vehicle
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer interactions
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with route driving and navigating various locations
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Experience working in a warehouse or moving environment is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
