The position of spray technician carries the overall responsibility for maintaining the contractual obligations in regard to herbicide, pesticide, and fertilization management. Related duties include ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel assigned to chemical use, and strict adherence to all federal, state and local laws & regulations. The expectation of this professional is compliance with company policies, successful completion of all assigned tasks, and development of strong relationships with all team members.
- Treat specific insect, weed, turf, disease and nutritional deficiencies by application of appropriate product.
- Maintain power spray equipment assigned to your area in a safe, clean, and mechanically sound condition at all times.
- See that all field equipment complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain inventory of chemicals needed for scheduled work.
- Complete spray work orders as per schedule
- Discuss with supervisor what is to be done the following day.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical usage according to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules & regulations
- Use good judgement in application of chemical (exposure to public, weather conditions, and other environmental considerations).
- Provide and maintain safe physical conditions for employees assigned to spray duties per OSHA standards.
- Maintain all required personal protective equipment

- Valid Driver’s License (CDL’s preferred)
- General Hazard recognition
- Knowledge of tree identification and basic tree biology
- Move briskly through uneven ground utilizing application tools
- Lift up to 80 lbs from ground to waist level
- Bend & twist to ground level
