Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will work directly with business owners and individual clients while handling a variety of accounting and tax responsibilities. This role includes preparing and reviewing returns, assisting staff, communicating with clients, and helping manage workflow during busy seasons.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review:
- Individual tax returns (1040)
- Business tax returns (1120S, 1065, Schedule C, etc.)
- Payroll and sales tax filings
- Prepare financial statements and adjusting journal entries
- Assist clients with bookkeeping and QuickBooks issues
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax and accounting matters
- Research tax issues and resolve notices
- Help train and support junior staff
- Maintain organized and accurate workpapers
- Assist with year-end and tax planning projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with small business accounting and taxation
- Strong knowledge of individual and business tax returns
- Experience with QuickBooks and tax software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
