Metropolitan Properties, a property management company is seeking is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Altitude Apartments, a 900+ unit complex in Malden, MA. The technician should be well motivated, well organized, and understands that the residents are the center of the apartment community.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician duties and desired characteristics include but are not limited:
- Works directly with Maintenance Supervisor and vendors to diagnose, assess & repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, tile, carpet, walls, flooring
- Maintains records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details including actions taken on a work order
- Knowledge of make ready apartments is preferred
- Follows up on unresolved customer service issues to ensure issue resolution
- Prioritizes and manages your daily workload to ensure successful completion
- Maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures and their proper application including efficiency, service and quality targets
- Responsible for the appearance and the working order of the property, which includes individual apartments, common areas, and exterior areas.
Job Requirements
- Technical experience with construction, electrical, HVAC and Mechanical Systems
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, construction, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing including appliance repair, power, water and sewer distribution
- Proven knowledge and application of codes, laws and regulations pertaining to public buildings and fire including ADA
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to successfully handle multiple priorities
- Must have good problem solving and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must have their own tools
- Reliable personal transportation and valid driver's license
- Position regular hours as 8am-5pm Monday-Friday but must be willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays for emergencies
- On call emergencies are rotated weekly between 6 technicians.
