Overview: Well-established civil defense litigation firm seeks an insurance defense attorney

Location: Hybrid in Seattle
Responsibilities Include:
- Handle substantive civil litigation matters with a focus on insurance defense and insurance coverage issues
- Draft coverage opinions, motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research related to insurance coverage and extra-contractual liability matters
- Manage active caseload, including deadlines, filings, and case strategy
- Participate in depositions, hearings, and court appearances (as needed in person)
- Collaborate with partners, paralegals, and litigation support staff to ensure efficient case management
- Work across multiple supervising attorneys depending on workflow and case needs
- Quickly ramp on existing matters and contribute with minimal training (particularly for more senior candidates)
Qualifications Include:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Washington State Bar
- Minimum 1+ years of substantive civil litigation experience
- Demonstrated experience handling insurance coverage matters, including drafting coverage opinions
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters and deadlines
- Availability to support hybrid or in-office needs for court appearances and depositions
Pay rate: $90-$100/hour
