Position Summary:
Wait Staff primary objective is to provide a relaxing and friendly atmosphere for all residents and guests. This is accomplished attentiveness to each resident’s need, and to serve them with professionalism and courtesy. At all times remember that this is their home.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Each employee will maintain a Guest focus while performing duties.
- Assume 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of the dining room, service areas and bathrooms on your shift.
- Report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen supervisor immediately.
- Tables are to be cleaned and reset in preparation for the next meal.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage or loss.
- Store all tableware and equipment associated with the dining room, keeping storage areas clean and organized.
- Check bathrooms at scheduled times and sign off on appropriate log sheet.
- Assist other employees when duties are complete.
- Remove dining room trash at the end of each shift into designated containers.
- Clean by mopping/ sweeping service are floor after each shift.
- Make sure all chairs are arranged evenly around guest tables.
- All chairs & tables are to be clean with centerpieces and condiment dishes clean and neatly arranged.
- Do not leave personal items on tables, chairs, work stations, or main entrance coat racks.
- Keep clean all entry doors and windows.
- Dust free standing cabinets, reception desk, and any other furnishings.
- Keep utility door closed at all times.
- Exterior doors are to be locked at end of the day. Check that doors can not be opened by pushing on door.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Must posses a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, team members, other Employees, Residents and Guests.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be willing to follow directions and ask questions if clarification is needed.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced dining environment.
