Premier Doggie Daycare and Boarding in Troy looking for two full-time overnight attendants. An average of 36 hours per week working three 12-hour shifts each week including some weekends. Must be 18 or older to apply. Minimum of a high school diploma is required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Monitoring boarding dogs and taking outside for potty breaks
· Calming anxious dogs
· Feeding and watering
· Janitorial and building maintenance duties will include picking up and disposing of dog waste, taking out the garbage, floor cleaning and maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting dog rooms, dusting, etc.
Requirements:
· You must love dogs!
· Excellent communication working with both overnight manager as well as other night attendants.
· You must be fast on your feet, be able to read body language and be comfortable with dog poop and pee.
· Have a calm and friendly demeanor and confidence working with dogs of all breeds and sizes in an off-leash environment.
· Experience teaching basic commands to dogs.
· Prefer a minimum of one year experience in either a doggie daycare/boarding center, dog training, kennel management, veterinary services, or a rescue organization.
· Prefer some experience in janitorial/building maintenance.
· Able to be physically active for 8 – 10 hours at a time including bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with no restrictions and be able to listen to dogs barking for long periods of time.
· Able to be outdoors for long periods.
· Be able to complete a course in pet first aid.
Starting hourly wage is based on experience.
