Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curriculum that incorporates movement, music, and creative expression aligned with early childhood education standards
- Lead lively dance classes that promote coordination, rhythm, balance, and confidence among preschool students
- Incorporate elements of choreography, theater experience, and visual arts to enrich the dance program
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and fun learning environment
- Collaborate with parents and staff to monitor each child's progress and adapt lessons to meet individual needs
- Integrate other creative arts such as photography, sewing, or culinary activities to enhance overall artistic development
- Maintain organized lesson plans, classroom materials, and student records in compliance with program policies
Skills
- Strong background in curriculum development for early childhood or preschool programs with a focus on arts education
- Proficiency in teaching visual & performing arts, including dancing styles such as ballet and general movement techniques
- Experience in choreography and lesson planning tailored for young children’s developmental stages
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies specific to preschool-aged learners
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm
- Skills in classroom management and creating a nurturing environment conducive to learning through arts
- Familiarity with teaching music, theater experience, or special education practices is a plus
- Competence in photography or sewing can be beneficial for integrating multidisciplinary projects into classes
