Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
- Monitor fleet movements via GPS and GIS technologies to ensure timely deliveries and efficient resource utilization.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and clients through multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear messaging.
- Track shipment statuses, update data entry logs accurately, and manage shipping & receiving documentation to support supply chain transparency.
- Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot logistical issues, adjust dispatch plans proactively, and improve overall transportation planning.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, freight movements, and fleet management data within AS400 systems.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight handling, shipping schedules, and delivery confirmations.
- Supervise daily driver activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and company policies
- Coordinate dispatching using transportation management systems (TMS), GPS, GIS mapping tools, and Fleet Management software
- Optimize routes and freight schedules through transportation planning techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Monitor fleet performance using fleet management systems and analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and timely updates on shipments
- Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including freight documentation, data entry, and coordination with 3PL providers
- Maintain accurate records of driver logs, shipping details, and compliance documentation using AS400, SyteLine, and other enterprise systems
Requirements
- Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination with strong analysis skills
- Familiarity with GIS, GPS navigation tools, transportation planning software, and supply chain management principles
- Knowledge of freight operations, dispatching procedures, and fleet management best practices
- Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally
- Strong data entry skills with proficiency in Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, AS400 or similar platforms
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus
- Demonstrated analysis skills for troubleshooting routing or scheduling issues efficiently.
