Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team, someone who is flexible and reliable and open to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions and also stocking when needed. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, particularly in a grocery store setting. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as effective communication is key to ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining the cleanliness of the checkout area.
- Utilize retail math skills to ensure accurate pricing and change calculations.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support during shifts.
- Maintain knowledge of store promotions, products, and services to assist customers effectively.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cashier or retail position preferred.
- Strong cash handling skills with a solid understanding of basic math principles.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash registers is advantageous.
- Ability to supervise and train new employees effectively.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus for enhancing customer communication.
- Experience in a grocery store environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members alike.
