Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Position Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day human resources operations with a primary focus on full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition. This role partners with hiring managers to attract, source, interview, and onboard top talent while also supporting employee relations, HR compliance, benefits administration, training, and other core HR functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment across the organization.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Create, post, and maintain job advertisements across recruiting platforms, social media, and company career pages.
- Source and identify qualified candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, career fairs, and direct outreach.
- Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Facilitate and participate in interviews and candidate evaluations.
- Manage applicant tracking systems (ATS) and maintain accurate recruitment records and metrics.
- Conduct reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment processes.
- Prepare and extend employment offers and coordinate onboarding activities for new hires.
- Develop and maintain relationships with staffing agencies, technical schools, colleges, and community workforce organizations.
- Support employer branding initiatives to enhance the organization’s ability to attract talent.
- Monitor recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, turnover, candidate quality, and hiring effectiveness.
HR Generalist Responsibilities
- Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation.
- Support employee relations matters by responding to employee concerns and partnering with leadership on resolutions.
- Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, leave administration, and employee questions.
- Support performance management, training, employee development, and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support employee retention and workplace culture initiatives.
- Participate in special HR projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interviewing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and recruiting platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting for skilled trades, manufacturing, engineering, or operations positions.
- Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, and compliance functions.
