Essential Functions
- Provide clinical oversight and licensed accountability for all LAC-DMH contracted programs as the Medi-Cal designated Head of Service, including responsibility for clinical service delivery, clinical standards, documentation compliance, quality assurance, risk management, and adherence to Medi-Cal, CalAIM, BHSA, and LAC-DMH requirements.
- Provide overall clinical leadership, direction, and oversight for CFGC’s mental health wellness programs and services.
- Provide direct supervision, leadership, and accountability for the Director of Non-Intensive Services, Director of Intensive Services, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Training and Program Development, ensuring coordinated program operations, clinical quality, compliance, training, and service delivery.
- Ensure services are ethical, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, family-centered, and aligned with agency and contract requirements.
- Manage access, referrals, intake flow, waitlists, caseloads, staffing, productivity, service capacity, and client outcomes.
- Oversee clinical compliance with DMH, Medi-Cal, CalAIM, BHSA, DCFS, documentation, medical necessity, billing, audit, and quality assurance requirements.
- Partner with finance, billing, and program leadership to support accurate claiming, compliant documentation, and sustainable service delivery.
- Provide leadership and supervision for Quality Assurance staff, ensuring their work supports documentation quality, compliance, audits, corrective action follow-up, and overall program accountability.
- Supervise and support assigned clinical leadership staff, including coaching, performance management, staff development, and succession planning.
- Provide leadership on high-risk cases, crisis response, mandated reporting, safety planning, ethical issues, care coordination, and client care concerns.
- Use data to identify trends, improve workflows, support accountability, and strengthen access, quality, compliance, and outcomes.
- Represent CFGC professionally with county departments, community partners, referral sources, school districts, and other external stakeholders.
The Director of Clinical Services is expected to demonstrate sound judgment, professional integrity, clear communication, operational accountability, and the ability to lead staff through changing clinical, regulatory, and fiscal requirements.

What We Are Looking For
- Current California clinical license, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or licensed psychologist.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
- Significant experience in clinical practice, supervision, and behavioral health program leadership.
- Strong knowledge of children’s mental health, family systems, trauma-informed care, community-based services, Medi-Cal specialty mental health, DMH requirements, CalAIM, BHSA, medical necessity, documentation, quality assurance, compliance, and audits.
- Demonstrated ability to manage programs, staff performance, workflows, documentation quality, service delivery, compliance requirements, and competing priorities.
- Ten or more years of behavioral health experience and five or more years of senior clinical management or program leadership experience.
- Experience overseeing publicly funded children’s mental health programs.
- Experience with quality improvement, audits, corrective action plans, contract managing, compliance reviews, and system or payment reform changes.
- Bilingual ability, especially English/Spanish, is desirable.
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and knowledge of services for children, adolescents, and families.
- Ability to lead programs while addressing operational, fiscal, compliance, documentation, reimbursement, quality assurance, and risk management requirements.
- Ability to use data, communicate effectively, coach staff, build trust, and maintain accountability.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
