Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Medical Assistant to manage both clinical and administrative workflows. The ideal candidate is a master multitasker who can smoothly transition from rooming patients and drawing labs to navigating Electronic Medical Records and handling front-desk inquiries with professionalism and a smile.
Key Responsibilities:
Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, document chief complaints, and update medical histories in the EMR.
Perform blood draws, administer injections/immunizations, perform EKGs, and prepare/label lab specimens according to office guidelines.
Assist the healthcare provider with minor in-office procedures and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked, sanitized, and prepared.
Assist with front-desk duties as needed, including patient check-in/check-out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing document workflows.
Help process prior authorizations, manage prescription refills under provider direction, and handle patient clinical callbacks with clear communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in an outpatient primary care or family medicine setting.
- Certification: Medical Assistant certification or registration (RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA) is highly preferred, but equivalent hands-on clinical experience will be strongly considered.
- Technical Savvy: Strong proficiency working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and comfortable adapting to practice technology.
- Clinical Competency: Confident in phlebotomy (blood draws), injections, and maintaining strict strict infection control/OSHA standards.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, a high level of reliability, strong attention to detail, and a warm, empathetic demeanor with patients.
