Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - PRN, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including those in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and other specialties.
- Administer therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and functional exercises to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress by documenting responses to treatments and adjusting interventions accordingly while maintaining accurate records of care provided.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, discharge planning procedures, and home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery outside of clinical settings.
- Support discharge planning efforts by collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure smooth transitions from inpatient or acute care environments to outpatient or home health services.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and relevant clinical procedures to deliver safe and effective care.
- Uphold all safety standards and infection control protocols during treatment sessions across various settings.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy.
- Experience with care planning for diverse populations including orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and patients requiring acute or outpatient care.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and coordinate with healthcare providers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
