Overview:
We are looking for a veterinary assistant to join our close-knit team. The right person will be passionate about providing high quality, compassionate care to our patients and clients alike. Duties:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during procedures.
- Handle and restrain animals during treatments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and animal areas
- Provide basic animal care such as feeding, walking, and comfort care
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
-Clean and sterilize surgical packs and prepare room for surgery
-Must be able to comfortably lift 40 pounds
Skills:
- Knowledge of basic vaccines and preventative care products
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Experience in dog and cat handling
- Ability to provide basic pet care and husbandry
- Minimum 1 year previous experience as a veterinary assistant preferred
Pay is commensurate with experience and demonstrable skills.
