- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Assist in the preparation of various dishes, such as soups, salads, and entrees
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards to prevent foodborne illnesses
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation
- Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing recipes
- Support catering operations by preparing food for special events or large gatherings
```Qualifications```
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role within the food service industry
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures, including proper knife handling techniques
- Familiarity with menu planning and culinary techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule
