About the Role
This position leads our team at the Manassas, VA (DMV area) office. You'll be the clinical team lead and operational presence on-site, splitting your time between hands-on phlebotomy work and running the team behind it — schedules, people, and the day-to-day details that keep the office functioning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage a team of 3, including scheduling, workflow, and day-to-day supervision
- Perform jugular blood donations and other advanced phlebotomy work with canine donors
- Handle team member management — coaching, performance conversations, and building a strong, reliable team
- Own administrative responsibilities tied to running the office smoothly
- Conduct pre-donation health screenings to ensure donor safety and eligibility
- Oversee processing, labeling, and proper storage of blood products
- Run quality control checks to maintain safety and compliance standards
- Represent your team in leadership meetings and coordinate with other team leads across the organization
What You Bring
- Current LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician) license required
- Real management or team leadership experience — you've hired, scheduled, coached, and held people accountable before
- Proven phlebotomy experience in a veterinary clinical or hospital setting
- Comfort handling administrative work: scheduling, documentation, reporting
- Comfort and confidence working with large, energetic dogs
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods
- A genuine passion for animal welfare paired with the discipline to lead a team, not just enjoy the mission
