Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ironworker who is a true professional in the field. This role involves working on construction sites, fabricating and installing structural steel, reinforcing bars, and various metal components. The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of welding, rigging, blueprint reading, and mechanical systems to ensure the safety and integrity of all projects. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction plans.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install ironwork components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG, FCAW), plasma cutting, and press brake machines.
- Perform welding tasks including MIG welding, TIG welding, Soldering, FCAW, and <LOCATION> welding in accordance with ASME codes & standards.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and other machinery safely to lift and position heavy steel structures.
- Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Cut and shape metal components using plasma cutters or press brake machines as required for project specifications.
- Install ductwork, piping (including pipe threading), sheet metal components, and structural supports following safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a true Ironworker with extensive construction site experience.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), plasma cutting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, schematics involving ASME codes & standards.
- Skilled in operating cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, power tools, hand tools, and machining tools such as press brakes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including pipe threading and assembly of structural components.
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations required during fabrication and installation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to construction sites involving heavy machinery and welding activities.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions typical of construction sites. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in ironworking disciplines who can contribute effectively to complex projects while ensuring safety and precision at every stage of construction or fabrication processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 60 per week
