Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Music Teacher (Part-Time Contract Position)
Overview of the Position
The TK Music Teacher will teach two, 30-minute interactive music classes in a row once a week, with ten four- and five-year-old students. The TK Music Teacher will manage the group of 10 on their own.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of three to five years of music teaching experience with early childhood students.
- Be well-versed in progressive educational theory and practices, and be culturally competent to build and maintain an inclusive community.
- Have a proven track record of working successfully in a diverse environment that upholds high values in social justice education and practices.
- Have a nurturing and supportive tone & rapport with early childhood students that upholds clear expectations and establishes routines and organizational systems to build self-sufficiency.
- A background in Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly methods is preferred.
Compensation:
Teacher will be paid $65 per class of 10.
