Construction Worker – Concrete & Steel Decking (Residential)Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and hardworking Construction Worker to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with concrete work, steel decking installation, and residential construction, particularly porches, decks, and exterior structures.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with all phases of construction, from site preparation through project completion, while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, works well independently and with a team, and is committed to delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair residential porches, decks, and exterior structures.
- Install galvanized steel decking systems according to project specifications.
- Build and install concrete forms.
- Pour, level, finish, and cure concrete.
- Install reinforcing steel (rebar) as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Measure, cut, and assemble framing materials accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Prepare construction sites, including layout, material staging, and cleanup.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with project supervisors and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of residential construction experience preferred.
- Proven experience with:
- Concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
- Steel decking installation
- Rebar installation
- Wood framing
- Porch and deck construction
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and building practices.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs or more and perform physically demanding work.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building residential porches and decks.
- Knowledge of local residential building codes.
