Associate Veterinarian – Urgent Care (Full-Time | Part-Time | Relief)
Evenings (4:00 PM–10:00 PM), Weekends & Holidays
Springfield, Ohio
We've been open for two months, and our community response has exceeded our expectations. As our caseload continues to grow, we're looking to add another veterinarian to help meet demand while maintaining the level of patient care, teamwork, and work-life balance that our team values.
The Pet Clinic of Springfield Urgent Care is the first dedicated veterinary urgent care hospital serving Springfield and the surrounding communities. Our purpose is simple: provide high-quality after-hours care while supporting—not replacing—local primary care veterinarians.
Our doctors treat urgent, non-life-threatening conditions, stabilize patients when necessary, and work collaboratively with area general practices and emergency hospitals to ensure pets receive the right care at the right time.
Why You'll Love Practicing Here
- No overnight shifts
- Predictable 4:00 PM–10:00 PM schedule
- True urgent care model—not full emergency medicine
- Modern, well-equipped facility
- Skilled, supportive technicians and assistants
- Collaborative relationships with local veterinary practices
- Opportunity to influence a growing hospital without the uncertainty of a startup
- Meaningful work that directly improves access to veterinary care in our community
This schedule isn't for everyone—and that's okay. But for veterinarians who enjoy urgent care medicine without the demands of overnight emergency practice, it offers an outstanding balance of challenging cases, predictable hours, and daytime flexibility.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat urgent care patients
- Develop diagnostic and treatment plans tailored to each case
- Perform common urgent care procedures, including wound management, laceration repair, abscess treatment, sedation, and other soft tissue procedures appropriate for urgent care
- Interpret digital radiographs and in-house laboratory results
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Maintain timely communication with referring and primary care veterinarians
- Collaborate closely with technicians to provide efficient, high-quality patient care
- Help refine hospital protocols and contribute to our continued growth

Why Springfield?
Springfield offers an exceptional quality of life with the affordability and sense of community that's becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Located between Columbus and Dayton, you'll enjoy easy access to major metropolitan amenities while benefiting from short commutes, attainable housing, and a lower cost of living.
Outdoor recreation is abundant, with Buck Creek State Park offering boating, hiking, camping, and fishing just minutes away. Downtown Springfield continues to grow with locally owned restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and community events.
Most importantly, you'll become part of a veterinary community that values collaboration. Our hospital exists to support local primary care practices by providing after-hours urgent care, helping pets receive timely treatment while allowing family veterinarians to continue providing the routine care they do best.
If you're looking for an opportunity to practice excellent medicine, work alongside a supportive team, and help shape the future of veterinary urgent care in our region, we'd love to hear from you.
