Durex, a division of Gerard Daniel Worldwide, is seeking a highly skilled and hands‑on Lead Maintenance Technician to support our facility and production operations. This role is essential in maintaining our building, equipment, and systems while ensuring the reliable performance of our electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment used to produce precision tooling components. The Lead Maintenance Technician will oversee preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, manage maintenance staff, and perform EDM setup, programming, and part inspection. This position plays a critical part in keeping our plant running safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance — Install, maintain, repair, dismantle, and rebuild machinery and mechanical systems.
- Systems Troubleshooting — Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Preventive Maintenance — Identify, schedule, perform, and document maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Safety & Compliance — Inspect facilities and equipment, resolve safety concerns, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
- Inventory & Supplies — Manage tools, supplies, and spare parts for the maintenance department.
- Team Leadership — Interview, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff while directing daily work activities.
- EDM Setup & Operation — Program, set up, and operate EDM equipment for precision tooling components.
- Blueprint & CAD Interpretation — Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, CAD files, and operation sheets to determine machining requirements.
- Quality Inspection — Inspect finished EDM parts and perform routine machine maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement — Support process improvements and contribute ideas for innovation.
- Cross‑Department Communication — Communicate effectively with production teams, vendors, and internal departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical associate degree preferred.
- 10+ years of plant maintenance experience.
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of:
- PLC systems
- Electrical systems (208/230/460 volts)
- Mechanical system
- Urethane plastic
- Forklift operation
- Welding
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Pay: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour
