Hiring Landscape Architect | Project Manager
The Landscape Architect at Word + Carr Design Group works closely with principals, junior design staff, and our in-
house construction team to deliver design in accordance with project goals. In addition to possessing core
competencies, the right employee for WCDG is one who has an enduring curiosity about the physical environment
and the natural world.
We are looking for candidates with a clear design point of view, striking cultural literacy and a genuine desire to
transform the built environment. WCDG has a diverse work culture that places emphasis on personal responsibility
and independence. Responsibilities include:
- Technical expertise in construction detailing, grading, and plant selection.
- Extensive experience in full drawing set production—from conceptual layout through construction
documentation, pricing, and observation.
- Design and project management across diverse project types and scales (residential, commercial,
hospitality).
- Proficient in time and financial tracking, team coordination, drawing and imaging software, specification
writing, and mentorship; business development experience is a plus.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills; experience in reviewing proposals, leading meetings,
resolving issues, and performing site observations.
- Skilled in empathy, problem-solving, and proactively identifying and addressing project or client
challenges.
Education & Qualification Requirements
Degree in Landscape Architecture, licensed or in the process to licensure, 5 to 8 years of experience in a
professional office environment
Skill/Software Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency in hand sketching, CAD software, 3-D modeling, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop & InDesign,
MS Word & Excel.
