The Safety Manager oversees all safety programs, procedures, and compliance activities for civil construction projects. This role ensures that field operations follow federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety standards. The Safety Manager leads training, conducts inspections, investigates incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Safety Oversight — Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and project‑specific safety requirements.
- Safety Training — Develop and deliver training programs such as hazard communication, equipment operation, fall protection, trenching, and confined space entry.
- Risk Assessments — Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), identify unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
- Incident Investigation — Lead root‑cause investigations for accidents, near misses, and property damage events.
- Regulatory Compliance — Maintain compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, EPA rules, and state/local construction safety regulations.
- Documentation Management — Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, training records, and incident documentation.
- Contractor Coordination — Ensure subcontractors meet company and project safety standards.
- Emergency Preparedness — Develop and implement emergency action plans, conduct drills, and coordinate with first responders.
- PPE Management — Ensure proper selection, distribution, and use of personal protective equipment.
- Continuous Improvement — Analyze safety performance metrics and implement strategies to reduce incidents.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
