Duties
- Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and conducting physical examinations to assess their readiness.
- Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment according to standardized protocols, ensuring accurate data collection.
- Monitor patients throughout their sleep sessions, observing vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory patterns, and oxygen levels to ensure safety and data integrity.
- Record detailed observations on patient physiology, sleep behaviors, and any anomalies during the study period.
- Collaborate with physicians and sleep specialists to interpret diagnostic evaluations and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all procedures, patient interactions, and technical data in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues with equipment or patient-related concerns promptly to minimize disruptions.
Qualifications
- Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT). (REQUIRED)
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, including airway management and ventilation support.
- Solid understanding of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to sleep medicine.
- Experience conducting physical examinations and assessing vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
- Prior experience working in a sleep center or performing diagnostic evaluations for sleep disorders is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with sleep medicine protocols, including the setup of polysomnography (sleep study) equipment and data analysis techniques.
