Responsible for providing skilled nursing care to terminally ill patients at Casey House. Responsibilities include assessing the needs of the patient and providing and documenting patient care in a caring and compassionate manner. To provide evidenced based nursing care to provide symptom management and emotional support in an inpatient setting. Exhibits expert end-of-life care and provides supervision to Hospice Aides.

Graduation from an accredited nursing program. B.S.N preferred.

Current State of Maryland Nursing License. CHPN preferred.

One year of recent clinical nursing experience in medicalsurgical, oncology or critical care environment. Previous hospice experience preferred.

Excellent physical assessment, pain assessment and IV skills.

Requires strong critical thinking skills and EMR experience.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with patients and families under stress.

Provides nursing care for hospice patients admitted to Casey House.

Implements nursing plans of care for assigned patients.

Completes all documentation within agency guidelines and in accordance with agency standards.
