ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform GTAW Hardfacing in accordance with written instructions.
- Maintain X-ray (RT) quality cleanliness prior to, during and after welding.
- Perform preheating and post weld cooling per instructions.
- Perform preventative maintenance on welding machines and shop equipment.
- Maintain digital weld log of all welded joints with relevant information to that joint.
- Operate shop tools, measuring tools and other equipment in a safe manner and maintain shop cleanliness.
- Qualify to multiple Hardfacing procedures for multiple base materials.
- Position involves Hardfacing Valve seating surfaces with the use of Stellite filler wire using GTAW and a welding positioner. Ideal candidate would also be capable of acquiring additional qualifications welding alloys such as: Monel, Inconel, Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Haynes using GTAW.
- Must be able to read (or learn to read) weld symbols and blueprints.
- Capable of giving precise attention to detail and be able to work methodically.
- Be open to performing repetitive tasks and working overtime when necessary.
- Maintain a low production scrap rate. All production Hardfacing welds will be Visually (VT) and Dye Penetrant (PT) inspected for acceptance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
- High School Diploma or GED
- GTAW (TIG) Welder classification requires prior experience and/or formal training.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be able to be qualified in accordance with Government specifications to perform the assigned weld function.

- Welding tools (torch, plasma cutter, welder, etc.)
- Hand tools (hammer, measuring devices, wrench, level, etc.)

WORK-RELATED KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrated ability to perform quality welds on a repetitive basis.
