Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Food Service Worker to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional in-person customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, maintaining a clean and sanitized environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Serve food and beverages to customers efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including ovens, fryers, and POS (Point of Sale) systems for processing cash transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures, cleaning workstations, utensils, and dining areas regularly.
- Assist with food safety management by following proper handling protocols and documenting sanitation practices.
- Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients as needed.
- Handle weight-based tasks in the workplace accurately, including portion control and inventory management.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Support catering events or special functions with appropriate setup, serving, and cleanup duties.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations and uphold high standards of hospitality.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; experience in fine dining or catering is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, dietary considerations, and food handling regulations.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, portioning ingredients, and inventory counts.
- Familiarity with POS systems for processing orders and payments.
- Experience with wine knowledge or beverage service is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on in-person interactions.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy trays or boxes safely.
- Culinary experience or background in the food industry that demonstrates versatility in food preparation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cleanliness and food presentation.
- Hospitality or catering experience that highlights adaptability in fast-paced environments.
