Job Summary:
Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for managing all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. In this role, you will support senior team members with the monitoring, reporting, and forecasting of capital expenditures across a portfolio of properties, assist with funding requests and project close-outs, and contribute to a variety of fixed asset accounting activities. Responsibilities:
- Monitor capital expenditures against established budgets
- Prepare weekly project status updates and monthly project expenditure reports
- Develop periodic project financial forecasts
- Resolve additional funding and substitution needs as required
- Prepare project closeout documentation in accordance with Hilton standards
- Perform compliance duties such as the set-up and maintenance of internal controls and SOX compliance
- Support the team by working with the Fixed Asset Accounting Controller on accounting for capitalized legal fees, development bonuses, and intangibles
- Report results to others and explain and decipher findings
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with other finance and corporate departments
- Collaborate with manager to establish specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish project and department goals
- Attend staff meetings pertinent to work assignments
Skills:
- Working knowledge of Power BI is advantageous
- Understanding of principles and practical application of GAAP
- Ability to research and respond to information requests from internal departments and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands while appropriately prioritizing responsibilities
- Exceptional critical thinking and both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to utilize logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or conclusions
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and provide recommendations for optimal solutions
Experience:
- 1 + years of professional experience in Accounting
- 3 + years of professional experience in Accounting preferred
- Previous experience with Capital Expenditures preferred
- BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree or MA/MS/Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
