We are expanding our reach in the SLED space and are seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to build and manage relationships with SLED clients, including state agencies, local governments, and educational institutions. What You’ll Be Doing:
· Identify, pursue, and close IT procurement opportunities within the SLED sector.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with IT decision-makers, procurement officials, and stakeholders in state and local government and education.
· Develop account plans and growth strategies for assigned territories.
· Represent GovSmart’s portfolio of OEM partners including hardware, software, cloud, and security solutions.
· Manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation through procurement and implementation handoff.
· Collaborate with internal teams (sales support, legal, technical specialists) to ensure seamless service delivery.
· Stay current on public sector procurement vehicles, trends, and compliance requirements.
· Training for 1-2 weeks in the Charlottesville, VA office.
What We’re Looking For:
· BA in Business or another related field.
· 1-3 years of experience in outside sales, business development, or account management in the IT industry preferred.
· Previous experience selling to SLED clients is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of IT solutions and public sector procurement cycles.
· Proven ability to exceed sales targets and develop long-term client relationships.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Comfortable working independently and providing results
· Familiarity with cooperative purchasing contracts and SLED RFP/RFQ processes is a plus.
Hours:
40 hours per week
Salary Range:
$50/yr + commission
