Job Summary:
CMC is looking for a Diagnostic Sonographer to perform a variety of ultrasound exams following established protocols and quality standards. In this role, you’ll carry out diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered by licensed physicians, producing high‑quality images and accurate preliminary data to support diagnosis and treatment planning. You’ll work closely with physicians and clinical staff, assist with specialized exams as needed, and help with the setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment and related imaging systems to ensure reliable, timely results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or GED, preferred.
- A.R.D.M.S. preferred
- Current CPR BLS (AHA) for healthcare provider’s card upon hire
- One year ultrasound experience in an acute care hospital
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs high quality ultrasound procedures proficiently.
- Instructs, educates, and prepares patient for exam.
- Knowledge of patient preps for various ultrasound procedures.
- Proficient in filming and workstation protocols.
- Performs special procedures (biopsies, abscess drainage’s tube placement, etc.) proficiently.
- Assesses patient before, during and after procedure
- Exhibits behavior that is courteous, compassionate, polite, friendly, and respectful towards patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers and extends self to make patients, visitors, clinical staff, and peers feel welcome and respected.
- Other duties as assigned
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB/CMC, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB/CMC in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
